(Q)   How much weight can the bookcase shelves hold ?

(A)   The unit will hold up to 500 pounds. And comes with 2 fixed shelves at the center and also four adjustable shelves.

(Q)   What type of materials are they made of ?

(A)   They come in three different hardwood veneers ( Oak , Cherry , & Maple )  finished or unfinished.
